Mobile Snatching Incident Reported Near MDU Gate, Two Arrested

A mobile snatching incident was reported late Tuesday evening near the main gate of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak. According to police officials, the victim, a college student, was returning to his hostel when two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle allegedly snatched his mobile phone and fled the scene. The incident occurred around 8:45 PM and created panic among students in the area. University security immediately informed the local police station, and a complaint was registered. Authorities began scanning nearby CCTV footage and identified suspicious movements in the surrounding lanes. Within 24 hours, the police managed to trace the accused through surveillance footage and local intelligence inputs. Both suspects, residents of a nearby locality, were arrested early Wednesday morning. The stolen mobile phone has been recovered. Police officials have urged residents and students to avoid using mobile phones while walking alone at night and to remain vigilant. Additional patrolling has been deployed around the university campus to prevent similar incidents.
